JACKSON, TN – Jackson State Community College's Green Jays battled through a demanding weekend slate, earning one hard-fought victory while dropping two tightly contested matches. Though the team finished 1–2, Head Coach Alexis Kapales emphasized the promise and toughness her group displayed.
Game 1 – at Bevill State C.C.
Bevill State 3, Jackson State 1 (25–18, 15–25, 23–25, 16–25)
Jackson State opened the weekend with a competitive four-set battle.

Raegan Essex powered the attack with 14 kills, 3 aces, and 17.5 points.

Teagan Reed added 10 kills and 3 aces for 14 points.

The Green Jays bounced back with a commanding sweep in their second match of the day.

In the weekend finale, the Green Jays fought hard but came up short in another four-set match.

"This weekend tested us in the best way," said Head Coach Alexis Kapales. "We were pushed in every match, and that's how you grow early in the season. The sweep over Southwest Mississippi showed what we're capable of when we execute. Now the goal is to bring that same consistency every time we step on the court."
